Floral Creations by Sharon
has been providing floral design services for more than
25 years. She is widely known for her work with
brides-to-be in planning and enhancing the wedding
ceremony with her creative floral designs. (Click

There
are no off the shelf packages for weddings because
Sharon believes that each ceremony is unique and each
bride has her own tastes, wants and needs in terms of
floral presentation.
In
addition to weddings, Sharon designs and produces floral
designs for the home and the office. She also offers
floral designs for special events such as wedding
anniversaries, hospitalized patients, birth of a baby,
graduation parties, holiday parties, and bar mitzvahs,
house warming gifts, and many countless other special
occasions.
Sharon is active in local, regional, state and national
garden clubs and is an active member of the National
Flower Arranger,
Creative Flower Arrangers and participates as an
accredited judge for local, state and national flower
arranging competitions.
She
has lectured extensively on flower arranging and keeps
current by participating in seminars and symposiums on
floral design programs held around the country.
This
site features weddings Sharon has serviced. Over the
years she has serviced more than 300 weddings and is a
resource for the discriminating bride-to-be, the mother
of the bride, bridal attendants, and – yes – often the
groom.

Biographical Information On Sharon
Yantis
Some of Sharon
accomplishments spanning more than 35 years of the
garden club experience...
Sharon’s mother introduced
her to garden clubs many years ago and she gained a love
for the soil and for plants from her father, a life-long
farmer in Ohio. She was active in 4-H and other rural
organizations.
More recent
accomplishments include serving as President of the
Federated Garden Clubs of Michigan from 1999-2001 and
other positions leading up to the presidency. To Sharon,
this was a very rewarding experience. (The name of
this organization has changed to Michigan Garden Clubs)
She is a member of the Advisory Board and is the
2007-2009 chairman of Flower Show Symposiums. She also
serves on the committee responsible for launching the
Michigan Garden Club Web site,
www.michigangardenclubs.org.

On the national level,
Sharon has served on the National Garden Club Board
since 2001, she is currently its Public Relations
Chairman.

She assisted with the
promotion of the National Butterfly Garden dedicated in
2006 on the grounds of the
U.S. Botanical Gardens in Washington D.C. Plus she
has assisted in promoting other national events and
meetings.

accredited Landscape Design Consultant,
Environmental Consultant.

She completed the
Gardening Study School in April 2007

She is a Master Flower
Show Judge.

She is member of the
National Flower Arrangers, Creative Flower Arrangers
Guild and Lakeshore Flower Arrangers Guild.

She is an active
member of
Kalamazoo Garden Club and Landscapers Garden
Club.

Sharon received a
State Life Members from the
Kalamazoo Garden Club

She also has received
a National Life Membership from her husband, Joe.
Sharon and Joe are the
proud parents of three young adults.
Daughter Sheryl and her two sons (Tyler and
Joey) live in Springfield, VA. Daughter Jennifer and
husband Garey live in Knoxville, TN with their two
daughters (Addie and Ellie). Son Michael and his wife
Rachel live in Chicago, IL.
The couple has lived in
Portage, MI. for 30 years. Joe is the owner of
Y-Communication / Public Relations, an advertising and
marketing and public relations firm and he is
professionally accredited by the
Public Relations Society of America.
For the past 35 years,
Sharon has been owner and primary designer of Floral
Creations by Sharon (formerly Colonial Creations) which
specializes in floral designs for weddings and a range
of other special events. She also does custom
decorating for homes and offices. Sharon designs flower
arrangements each Sunday for two church altars.
Sharon shares her talent
and love of gardening by presenting floral design and
horticultural programs and workshops. She has conducted
such programs throughout Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.
She has won many awards in flower shows over the years.

She is very active in the
Portage United Church of Christ singing in the
choir, coordinates seasonal church decorating, and
exterior gardening. She is involved in Bible study and a
small group. She is also member of Kalamazoo Symphony
League and Peak Leads Group. Her hobbies include, Bible
study, gardening, flower arranging, landscaping,
decorating and traveling.
